Sue
Nursery Manager

My Name is Sue Lovell and I’m the Manager here at Cherry Trees.
I have worked here since 1997, and am amazed at how quickly the years have passed, during which time my own four children have grown into adults.  I have a BA Honours in Early Years, as ‘Early Years’ is my passion.

I’m very proud of the wonderful team here who work tirelessly to enhance the environment here at Cherry Trees, and to create a fabulous nursery for every child that attends. We place great importance on evaluation and self-reflection - regarding every child as a unique individual.

We offer a variety of sessions here at the nursery, to suit most family’s individual needs, and always aim to offer competitive and inclusive prices.  Cherry Trees also offers access to all parents to view our web-cam during their time at nursery - and a wide range of activities including swimming at a local school.

We occupy a large, refurbished purpose built nursery in Slough, with wonderful resources and play equipment
It’s hard to find a day nursery in Slough - or the surrounding area - with wonderful facilities for both indoor and outdoor play. Situated in a building specifically designed for nursery use, our Slough nursery has both, and we’ve incorporated lots of information about our facilities on our Our Nursery page, and lots of photos of our children at play throughout our website. Thank you to our parents for granting their permission for us to share these photos.

Our philosophy and practice
We’ve taken care to explain our approach to childcare in great detail on our Caring For Your Child page. I think that this is important, as not every Slough nursery operates in the same way. We explain our ‘Key Person Approach’ and how this enables us to know both you and your child extremely well – and better meet your child’s needs. We also explain how our nursery and outdoor environments contribute to your child’s development with us.

Here at Cherry Trees we have a wonderful partnership with parents – working closely, and ensuring that we’re meeting their individual needs. I strongly believe in creating warm, caring environments, where children and their families feel valued and loved - and where they can genuinely feel at home. As children’s primary educators, the relationships we build with parents are as important as the relationships we build with our children. These relationships create a ‘home from home’ atmosphere and help children to feel secure, leaving them free to immerse themselves in creative play.

Useful Information
We’ve tried to include as much information as possible here on our website, and you’ll find much of it on our Parent Information page. I believe we’re the only Slough nursery to open from 7.45am – 6.00pm, Monday – Friday for 51 weeks of the year (we close during Christmas week) and offer a variety of sessions to suit most family’s individual needs at competitive and inclusive prices. We also offer FREE childcare places for 2, 3 and 4 year old children, and include free nappies and wipes and nutritious ‘home cooked’ lunches and teas – the details of which are all explained on this page.

The only day nursery in Slough rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED under the new inspection framework
Of course it’s natural to be proud of your nursery when you work with a team who strive to provide wonderful care to children every day - and I’m no exception. I truly believe that Cherry Trees is the best nursery in Slough. I hope that our parent testimonials and our ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating bear this out - and you may enjoy reading our latest OFSTED Report.

Finally, while we regard Cherry Trees as a Slough nursery, we also have many parents who use us from as far afield as Windsor, Ascot, Henley-on-Thames, Marlow, High Wycombe, Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield – as well as from local towns such as Langley and Maidenhead. You’ll find a map showing our location on our Contact Us page - as well as our contact details. If we look as though we could provide a childcare solution for you, then we’d love to see you at the nursery and show you around - so please give us a call on 01753 532718 or pop in to see us, and meet our team.
